Goodbye Matthias Hippen 2008-08-22

Matthias Hippen, a.k.a., Flash (that's what I call him as he seemed to flash most every problem/route in the Delaware Rock Gym), has left to return to his homeland of Switzerland. Before he took off Aimee Tetreault was gracious enough to host yet another going away party last Friday night. Thanks for all her efforts...taking off a day of climbing to clean house, providing the space for a kick ass slack line, providing a bowl big enough to play bobbing for watermelon in jungle juice and of course cleaning up after our night of fun. Thanks also to James Keenan for his marvelous yo-yo skillz....girlz like guys with skillz...it made for some awesome photography. Thanks also James for showing me the ropes on using the flash...sorry if i hogged it most of the night.
We will all certainly miss Matthias and hope that someday he will venture back to the U.S. again and likewise maybe some of us will be lucky enough to go visit him in Switzerland. Keep climbing Matthias...we will meet you back out on the rock one day.
